This step-by-step guideline of replacing a bathroom faucet is not only suitable for the bathroom but for any faucet that needs a replacement, which you can do it yourself. Don’t worry of course you can do it! You don’t want to spend $100 just to replace your faucet. You just have to learn how to do-it-yourself with these simple guidelines:

1. Turn off the main water supply first to the sink and the stop valves which are beneath the sink. Make sure that the water is all of the way off.

2. Detach the water line from the faucet and remove it from the drain stopper connection.

3. Slowly remove the faucet from the sink and make sure that you use a basin wrench when you to do that and slowly lift the faucet off of the sink.

4. Now install the faucet in the sink by inserting it into the hole of the sink. Tighten the screws and washers properly. Don’t forget to use a wrench to do that.

5. Connect the water lines to the newly installed faucet and apply some plumbers tape onto the drain flange of the faucet before opening the main water supply.

Like what I have mentioned above, replacing a faucet doesn’t need a tutorial. You can repair a leaky faucet and you can do it yourself.

Make sure that you have everything including the materials and tools such as:

1. Basin wrench
2. Brass screws
3. Silicon grease
4. Faucet washers
5. Socket wrench
6. Electrical tape
7. Cleaning cloths or rags
8. Hand cleaner

Always make sure that the main supply of the water is turned off when fixing your faucet. You might want to choose a single lever faucet rather than a double lever faucet because it is more convenient and easy to handle.
