It is now time to patch a floor, but how do you accomplish this? Vinyl sheet flooring is quite simple to repair. You need to have extra sheets of vinyl however. When you are patching a floor always remember the pattern must match. The supplies needed to patch a floor are the following; utility knife, pencil, scissors and a container of water. An adhesive will be needed in the end to complete the floor repair.

First check to see if the pattern matches. Proceed by cutting the new patch to size with scissors of the area to be repair. Then trace around it and cut away the damaged pieces. Water may need to be used here to dampen the area and then get rid of the old adhesive. Get your new adhesive ready to be placed on the new patch.

Apply the adhesive to the surface and let dry. The piece should fit rather nicely in place; no air should be present underneath the patch. Use some water to get rid of any excess glue on the tile patch. Let the patch area dry for sometime, return when it is dry enough to walk on. The repair should look quite well; you should hardly see a difference in the replaced patch versus the rest of the floor.

You should be proud of your work because it saves some money. You don’t have to run to the phonebook when it comes to patching a floor as you already know how to. Patching a floor isn’t as bad as it seems. Gather your materials and confidence beforehand. If you follow these simple steps you should be in great shape.
