Tips to keep your flooring clean

Clean flooring is one factor that is good to see in your house. Especially if you do have kids like me. My youngest son is 5 months old and he’s starting to crawl so I always keep the flooring of my house clean at times. Whether your flooring is linoleum or tile primary cleaning is essential.
Here are some tips and reminders on how to do it yourself:
1. For tile floorings, use bleach or a scrubbing sponge and spread the water on the floor with bleach and soap. It makes it easier of you spill the water with bleach onto the whole floor.
2. Then use an old brush like a laundry brush, or toothbrush will do, to wipe and clean the sides of the grout then wipe with a damp rag.
3. I use Muriatic Acid to clean my flooring. But make sure that you use hand gloves and keep the acid out of reach by the children. It is one chemical compound that is useful for cleaning.
4. Avoid it from soaking in and use a clean rag to wipe and dry. Or you can use a mop if you have one handy.
5. For the last finish, use a floor wax and again a clean and dry rag and wipe the floor until it looks shiny.
Just remember some precautions, makes sure that if you decide to do a general cleaning to your house that there are no kids snooping around. It’s for your own sake to finish the chores on time or if possible just do them early in the morning or after the kids leave for school.
And if you use chemicals like the Muriatic Acid, bleach, soap or floor wax, be sure to keep them away from the kids. Preventive is better than finding a cure. Make this kind of cleaning at least 3-4 times per month or once a week. Remember that healthy living in and outside the home is essential to you and to the whole family.
